The Commonwealth Games were held in Birmingham, England from July 29th to August 8th 2022 at the Sandwell Aquatics Centre. Team SVG had 6 swimmers participating.
We gave special congratulations to swimmers:
- Shane Cadogan – new national record of 29.89 in the 50 meter Breaststroke (breaking his own previous record of 30.05)
- Jamie Joachim – new national record of 1 minutes 12.40 seconds in the 100 meter Backstroke (breaking Shne Joachim previous record of 1:12.49). This was also a new record in the girls 13 to 14 age group.
All swimmers did at least one personal best time and congrats to them.
Special thanks to Coach Kyle Dougan for his continued hard work with our athletes. Simone France/Cadogan was terrific as our team manager, chaperone and covid protocol lady.
We are very proud of the performances and efforts of our athletes and even prouder of their conduct and behaviour in representing SVG.
