2024 Gallagher National Swimming Championships – Results

Dear Swim Friends and Family,

The annual Gallagher National Swimming Championships just concluded with the Blue Marlins Swim Club taking the overall club championship.  The event was held last week from Thursday 12th to Sunday 15th at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Center in Ratho Mill. Other clubs participated in the competition including Black Sands, H2O Lions (Leeward) and Sail Fish Swim Club (Grenada). The attached results will guide our selections in accordance with our selection policies of the swimmers who will represent SVG at the upcoming OECS Swimming Championships being hosted in SVG November 8th to 10th, 2024.

Special congratulations to the following:

  • Kennice Greene who broke the 50 meter freestyle previously held by Shne Joachim at both the 15 to 16 age group and national levels. Greene also broke her own previous 50 meter Butterfly record in the age 15 to 16 age group and national levels.
  • Matthew Ballah who broke his own previous 50 meter Backstroke record in the boys age 15 to 16 group.
  • Kentreal Kydd, SVG’s 2024 Paralympian broke his own 50 meter Butterfly record by 2.11 seconds, swimming a new record time of 39.69 seconds.


The individual age group champions were:  

  • Girls age 8 & Under – Saige Jobe
  • Boys age 8 & Under – Xid Toney
  • Girls age 9 to 10 – Skylar Byron
  • Boys age 9 to 10 – Saj Caesar
  • Girls age 11 to 12 – Belle Adams
  • Boys age 11 to 12 – Jadon Hamilton
  • Girls age 13 to 14 – Tayeah St Hilaire
  • Boys age 13 to 14 – Hazen Dabriel
  • Girls age 15 and over – Kennice Greene
  • Boys age 15 and over – Matthew Ballah

The individual sprint champions were:

  • Girls 8 & Under – Ira Hadley
  • Boys 8 & Under – Xid Toney
  • Girls aged 9 to 12 – Belle Adams
  • Boys aged 9 to 12 – Kione Deshong
  • Girls 15 & over – Kennice Greene
  • Boys 15 & over – Matthew Ballah
