SVG Swim Team heads to Puerto Rico

St. Vincent and The Grenadines Amateur Swimming Association is pleased to advise that through the generous assistance of the National Olympic Committee, St. Vincent and The Grenadines will be represented at this year’s Central American and Caribbean Aquatic Federation (CCCAN) championships in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico from June 25th – July 3rd.

The team will consist of 3 swimmers in the male 11 – 14 age group (Zefal Bailey, Khori Browne and Arthur LaBorde) along with Coach Shawn Gary John and Team Manager, Mrs. Vilette Browne.

Zefal and Arthur recently represented SVG at the 2011 LIME Carifta Games held in Barbados during April. Khori is also no stranger to overseas competition having participated in the Barbados Amateur Swimming Association (BASA) Long Course event in March and the Rodney Heights Aquatic Centre (RHAC) club meet in St. Lucia in April this year.

The swim meet in Puerto Rico is a 2011 PanAm Games qualifier event. Participation at these regional and international championships continue to be an excellent source of development for our swimmers.
