The St. Vincent and The Grenadines Amateur Swimming Association will be hosting their official launch at the Grenadine House poolside on Saturday 22 May 2010 at 2:00 pm. This launch will be part of an all day swimming event entitled ‘Swim Fest 2010’ which is opened to all swimmers and other interested persons.
The association, which now comprises of 24 registered members (12 adults and 12 juniors), also held a special meeting on Tuesday, 18 May to adopt the new constitution. President of the association, Andre Cadogan, commented that he is pleased that the association will now be in a position to work in line with the expectations of FINA using the constitution as a guide to cover every area from membership to auditing of the association’s affairs.
Following the launch, the executive council will commence plans towards formalizing a National swim team which will take part in the OECS Swim meet scheduled for November 2010 in St. Lucia.
