The St Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Federation (SVGSF) are pleased to report on the results of our participation in the 31st OECS Swimming Championships. The 2023 results were the best performance of a team from SVG in the history of the OECS Championships.
The 31st OECS Swimming Championships were held November 10th to 12th in St Lucia. Countries participating were Antigua, Grenada, Martinique, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent and Sint Maarten. We congratulate Antigua and Grenada in their tie for first place as the overall Team Champions of OECS Swimming. SVG finished 3rd overall (with the Boys in second and the Girls in third). The SVG performance was very impressive given we had a team of 26 swimmers while the joint winners had teams of 34 swimmers.
Team SVG thanks the St Vincent and the Grenadines Olympic Committee and the National Lottery for assisting with funding. SVG will host the OECS Swimming Championships in 2024 and we hope to obtain support from the National Lottery and the private sector to help us to put on an excellent event.
Our team comprised a total of 26 swimmers (14 males and 12 females) and we were the first country to include a para-athlete (Kentreal Kydd) in our team.
The SVG Swimming Federation are very pleased at the results of our individual swimmers. Twelve years ago, SVG swimming won a total of 4 bronze medals by two swimmers and we were very pleased at that time. In addition, our relay teams won 2 gold, 6 silvers and 3 bronze medals. Twenty-two of the twenty-six Team SVG swimmers brought home medals and three swimmers broke OECS records. 30th OECS Swimming Championships
Day 1
Day 2
U.N.
Day 3
The St Vincent and the Grenadines Swimming Federation (SVGSF) are pleased to report on the results of our participation in the 30th OECS Swimming Championships.
The 30th OECS Swimming Championships were held November 11th to 13th in St Lucia. Countries participating were Antigua, Grenada, St Kitts, St Lucia, St Vincent and St Martin. We congratulate Antigua on their first win as the overall Champions of OECS Swimming.
Team SVG faced financial constraints as we did not receive the typical support we have gotten in the past from the Government and the National Lottery. As a result we were not able to take a full team of 34 swimmers and this meant that we could not be competitive in the team event aspect of the Championships. However, our individual swimmers were very competitive.
We did receive financial assistance from the SVG Olympic Committee and we are grateful for their support. With the SVG Olympic Committee support we were able to take 24 swimmers (12 males and 12 females).
The SVG Swimming Federation are very pleased at the results of our individual swimmers. Eleven years ago, SVG swimming won a total of 4 bronze medals by two swimmers and we were very pleased at that time. This year Team SVG brought home a total of 72 medals which included 17 Golds, 26 Silvers and 29 bronze medals. In addition, our relay teams won one gold, 3 silvers and 6 bronze medals. Twenty three of the twenty four Team SVG swimmers brought home medals with eighteen in individual medals and a further 5 earned medals as part of a relay team. This is clear evidence of the tremendous progress that has been made.

The OECS Swimming Championships are an annual event featuring countries from the OECS with competitive Swimming programs. The 29th annual OECS event is being held in St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre November 8th to 10th , 2019 inclusive. This year the Championships feature Antigua, Grenada, St Kitts, St Lucia and SVG. Unfortunately, the British Virgin Islands swimming facilities have not yet recovered from serious hurricane damage 2 years ago; as such they will not be competing. Medals are provided to the top three swimmers in each swim event and each age category. Each country can accumulate points based on the position of their two best swimmers in each age category and event. The team accumulating the most points is declared the OECS Swimming Champion. In addition, the individuals with the most points in each age group is the Overall Champion of that age group.

26th OECS Swimming Championships
Day 1- November 10th Thursday
Attached are the results of the first Day of the OECS Swimming Champs 2016. A great effort by the swimmers especially considering the conditions. As agreed at the Technical meeting, the results today will not count toward the overall country championship but swimmers will be awarded medals. This was in recognition of the fact that Antigua did not have most of their team here (this was no fault of their own).
The Medley Relays scheduled for this evening will be swam at the end of the day tomorrow. There will be a short opening ceremony at some point tomorrow and we will advise the time.
The meet results are on Meet Mobile at “26th Annual OECS Swimming Championships”. Live streaming is also at: http://www.multinetsolutions.com/Live_Stream_9QJH.php?no_redirect=true. We apologize for the lack of proper audio and are working to correct the technical problem.
OECS 2016 Results: Day 1- Thursday
Day 2- November 11th Friday
Attached are the results for Day 2 of Competition. Again a great effort by the swimmers and teams considering the conditions. Weather permitting, we hope to hold a shortened opening ceremony at 10am this morning (Saturday). The meet results are also on Meet Mobile at “26th Annual OECS Swimming Championships”.
